A. Yes. Section 2.1.1.7 of the Yucca Mountain Review Plan discusses NRCs assessment of whether DOEs waste package design and testing demonstrates compliance with Part 63 requirements. In addition, during performance confirmation, DOE is required by 10 CFR 63.133 to establish a program to monitor the condition of waste packages at the repository operations area in a location representative of the environment in which the waste packages will be placed. The program is to include laboratory experiments that focus on the internal condition of the waste package. The scope of information NRC will review on monitoring and testing of waste packages is described in Section 2.4 of the Plan. Documents related to the topics discussed in these sections of the Plan should be submitted to CACI for inclusion in the LSN.
