Are documents related to surveillances and periodic testing of structures, systems and components required to be included in the LSN?
A. Yes. A program of surveillances and periodic testing of structures, systems, and components is required by 10 CFR 63.21. In addition, during repository construction and operation, as part of the performance confirmation program, DOE is required by 10 CFR 63.132 to establish a continuous program of surveillances, measurements, testing, and geologic mapping to ensure that the natural and engineered design features of the repository are confirmed, and to alert the NRC of any design changes needed to accommodate actual conditions.
