Are distance-measuring-devices permitted during Tournament play?
The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) is pleased to announce the tournament policy allowing the use of distance measuring devices in all competition events. This decision stems from the prevalence of distance measuring device usage at the collegiate level, the next step for many of our IJGT competitors. As a school year tour, many of you know practice rounds are sometimes unrealistic prior to playing in an event due to our tournament player’s commitment to attending school instead. Using a distance measuring device will afford our competitors the opportunity to gain information about the course even when their schedule does not permit a tournament practice round.
