According the the US Department of Education’s Institutes of Education Sciences, the percentage of children dropped from a high of 13.8 percent of students in 2004-2005 to 13.4 percent of students in 2007-2008. Although the decline in diagnoses seems to be small, experts still look at it as being significant. The committee is definitely out when it comes to what the decline means.
