A number of fuze systems have multiple detonators. Many modern systems are manufactured by connecting a number of detonators taken from a single lot to a cable with a combination series and parallel circuit. Experience has shown that the amount of energy required to function such a combination is not always the product of the number of detonators times the energy for a single detonator.
