Are demonstrations counterproductive?
Of course, the question isn’t new. Perhaps amid the social hurricane formed over the polarizing issue of undocumented immigration, the younger crowd and some not well informed older people may tend to question the effectiveness of demonstrations. Running ahead of this question, there is and almost “official” assumption that demonstrations are counterproductive. Forty-one years ago, the question echoed in the studio of the weekly news program “Meet the press”.
