Are Dell Systems capable of running Windows Vista® ?

A. All new DellTM OptiPlexTM , LatitudeTM , Dell PrecisionTM Workstation, XPSTM and InspironTM systems launching in calendar year 2006 and most of the systems currently shipping today meet the requirements to run Windows Vista*, provided they are configured with at least 512 MB RAM and a mid- to high-performance class processor. However, to take advantage of all that Windows Vista® has to offer, Dell recommends at least one gigabyte of dual channel memory and an advanced graphics card from ATI or nVIDIA*. The more graphics and system memory on a computer, generally the richer the experience. Systems without enough graphics and memory power to run Windows AeroTM , the highest level of graphic user interface from Microsoft, will offer a Basic graphics interface, which is similar to the Windows XP interface in look and feel. Windows Aero will also require a premium version of the operating system, Windows Vista Premium, Windows Vista Business, or Windows Vista Ultimate.
