Are Dean guitars any good????
Tagged As: Case Dean Guitar Question: I was just wondering how Dean can offer guitars with solid tops, fancy (somewhat gaudy) abalone bindings/rosettes and nice electronics for under $600. I’ve never tried one, but I don’t understand how they could possibly put out a guitar with so many features at such low prices which actually sounds good. Any input would be helpful. Answer: But they don’t sound good at all. There are much plainer looking, and similar priced guitars that sound much better. I hadn’t played any Seagulls in quite awhile and today I got the opportunity to play several. I played a Grand, Folk, a cedar topped 12-string, and several large bodied ones and the only one that I thought came up short on sound was the little bodied Grand model. I was very tempted to buy the 12-string. A solid topped cedar guitar with hard shell case for well under $500. It sounded great to me, and I am not easy to please on guitar sound.
