Are dartboards different in the PDC and BDO championships?
No, it’s the angle at which the camera is pointed at the board. The BBC points the camera upwards towards the board, thus making it appear that the wires are thicker. I’ve played on both boards so I can assure you that there is absolutely no difference. This is supported by the fact that most BDO players do not improve significantly after joining the PDC – Mervyn King is about the same standard, some improve but that’s due to the increased level of professionalism and competition. The BDO should concentrate on the grassroots level of the game and merge with the PDC. One world championship – then we’ll see just how good the likes of Hankey and Adams really are – averages of 90-95 won’t cut it.
