Are daggerboards a problem in shallow waters?

Can be if you do not take care. But this problem also applies to any boat with a fixed keel, the big advantage for the F-41 being that it can retract the daggerboard(s) when required. However, in many areas frequent groundings can be a problem and for this reason a kick up centerboard is now an included option. There were some initial reservations about whether this would be possible, but as the drawings advanced it has become apparent that such a centerboard will work and fit into the interior without any problems.
