Are dachshunds and beagles good for kids which breed is the best fo 5 year olds?
I’ll probably get thumbs down for this, but I hate beagles. They’re overly stubborn, and typically have food aggression, and they’re prone to running off and never coming back. I would suggest a long haired dachshund. They’re intelligent, fun, very loving, and easy to train (they are food motivated), plus they are adorable! It also depends on your lifestyle. Both of the breeds listed are very active, and won’t do well cooped up in an apartment. A fenced in yard would do best for either breed, or an owner who enjoys being outdoors. Beagles get snippy with other animals too. If you have a cat, hamster, gerbil, ferret, or any other small creature, no go there. Doxies can have aggression towards smaller animals too, but they are easier to train out of it. Overall, research both breeds to make sure you’re getting exactly what you want. That way, when you choose your breed, you won’t be surprised with your results. If you’re getting your pooch from a breeder, talk to the breeder. Find out an
