Are customers allowed to assemble systems on their own using MetaSystems components?
Yes, but such a system cannot be CE marked by law! We can only CE-mark systems manufactured by MetaSystems using approved components. Although MetaSystems can provide ‘kits’ (for example, comprising camera, framegrabber and software), any system assembled from these kits and a non-approved PC will NOT fulfill conformity rules according to the EC directive 98/79. In this instance, MetaSystems is merely a supplier, but not the system manufacturer.
