Are craigslist, idealist and these other job search engines really safe?

I tried craigslist for months. I would not recommend it. There are mostly supposed positions for new offices and they must be filled fast. A lot of people put postings on craigslist saying that they applied for an advertised job and that they had problems, especially with sex-driven people. Its very dangerous. I put my resume on craigslist. All I got were real estate and quick payday offers. People said that they were in South Dakota and they wanted to get together. I live about 1500 miles from South Dakota, here in Southern California. There is special software where a person can send some nonsense email to every address which has a posting on craigslist. Its not worth your time and you are asking for spam. Safe? Hear of the craigslist murder case? Get a free phone book from your grocery store and call local businesses to see if they are hiring. Put those free weekend minutes to use, and save yourself a lot of trouble.
