Are Conversations private?
They can be. The Worldview slider visible when you compose a new comment lets you select who is able to see and reply to your Comment. If you select Public, anyone can read and reply to it. If you select Contacts then those people shown in your Personal Network as Contacts, Acquaintances, or Friends can read and reply to the comment. If you select Acquaintances, then Acquaintances and Friends can read and reply. If you select Friends then only Friends can read and reply. If you select Invitation Only, only you and people you explicitly invite can read and reply. People you invite can always read and reply, no matter what setting you specify. And of course, you can always read and reply to your own comments.
