Are condoms a guarantee against STIs?
No. There are no guarantees that condoms will prevent an STI although most STIs can be prevented by the use of condoms, but they must be used correctly and consistently. Condoms are not regarded as effective against genital warts as they are often not able to cover the whole area affected by the warts. Remember, a condom covers most of the penis, but the base and pubic region remain exposed.
