That’s interesting, I didn’t know that’s how they treated you, in that scenario. Never heard of a conditional resident. When I had my green card prior to citizenship, I always heard that you had to remain in the USA for most of the year – their argument being that if you applied for US residency, you should be living in the US. I guess there must be an exception for medical schools. I don’t have an answer to this, but I would be interested to know.
