Are concerns about non-native invasive species overblown?

It depends on how they blend in with everything else and if they are to the detriment of other more native species of plants. I don’t like giant hog-weed because although a good structural plant in a garden is too large next to streams and blocks out light.(also causes rashes) Whereas sycamore grows to be a nice stately tree and provides lots of nectar for my bees. Japanese knot weed I don’t like. Himalayan balsam i do like (again good nectar). Personally I think we just have to learn to live with introduced species. The money that is spent on trying to eradicate these plants could be spent in more worthwhile ways.
