Are computers going to link together in an intranet or data will be transferred through internet? Or simply will be sent on a floppy disc or CD?
This depends on the country situation and facilities available. However internet is the most suitable way providing that the file is protected by password, and sent through secured servers. Using share point technology is also useful. Where internet is not there, the time to transfer the data is not saved properly indeed but the time to develop the reports are much less so the time management as a whole is still consider better than the traditional methods in addition to the high quality of data compared to the manual reporting.
