Are Community Development Corporations (CDCs) relevant?
Affordable housing, traffic calming, community gardens, small business retention, lending, and community planning. These are just a few of the things that community development corporations (CDC) do. In today’s economic and funding environment a real threat has been posed to eliminate those that remain in the Twin Cities. The Community Dividend has this great article explaining what is happening. It might just be that a new urban renewal process is upon us, we just don’t know what it looks like yet.
