Are colonics dangerous to have done?
From my personal opinion… I remember learning about this in nursing school and the consensus was they were useless, and can actually alter the natural bacteria make-up in the colon. The body does a pretty good job of doing it’s own cleansing and self-maintenance. It usually does not need much assistance. Now on to the research… Altmedicine.com states that a colonic is an infusion of water into the rectum that helps remove accumulated waste, prevent constipation, and improve overall health, however, people who have had heart problems, or certain bowel problems like colitis, Crohn’s, or cancer should not have the procedure done.
