Are classes taught by graduate students as good as classes taught by professors?
Iowa State only has so many full professors available and does its best to ensure that they teach the greatest amount of students. The university tries to make sure that the best instructors are used for the large introductory classes so they can reach a large amount of students. All graduate student instructors are qualified individuals, although if there is a problem students are encouraged to report it. Statistically speaking eighty-seven percent of the undergraduate classes are taught by professors and 13 percent are taught by graduate assistants.
