Are city jobs on the decline?

0

Currently, the city of Sacramento is under a hiring freeze. The mayor describes it as a “hiring slushie,” in that they are hiring in a very limited fashion for positions that must be filled if someone leaves employment, but generally they aren’t hiring. This is because there is currently a roughly $60 million city budget deficit. I imagine things will warm back up if/when the city is again in the black. Here is the city’s employment-opportunities page: Employment – City of Sacramento Before the freeze there were normally 40-50 positions listed…now it’s like ten.
