Are circumcised men less promiscuous than uncircumcised?
No, there is no evidence that circumcision has any real effect on promiscuity. Look at how the head of the IMF was just arrested—-Look at how a former President of Israel was just convicted of sex crimes. Circumcision does diminish the enjoyment of sex, but that doesn’t stop individuals from being promiscuous. Sometimes I think it’s just the opposite—they have to prove that it still works. Circumcision was practiced so extensively in the USA in the past because unscrupulous doctors make money from it, and they frequently belong to the religions that try to impose circumcision on all males. But the practice in the USA has fallen to about 33%, fewer and fewer babies are having male genital mutilation, called circumcision, forced on them these days. Finally Americans are wising up to the fact that it’s wrong to chop normal and healthy parts off of babies’ genitals. Circumcision is a fraud and a hoax. A foreskin is not a birth defect; it is a birthright.
In the U.S., circumcised men have been shown to be _more_ promiscuous, and engage in oral and anal sex more often then uncircumcised men. It is not known why this is the case, and competing theories have been suggested including: – U.S. women viewing circumcised penis as ‘normal’ and being willing to engage in more activities – U.S. uncircumcised men being less confident due to being ‘unusual’ – Circumcised men being less sensitive and so requiring more/different stimulation to compensate, i.e. more oral because they are more lubricant dependent, and anal because it offers greater sensation. It would be interesting to compare data to a country where being uncircumcised was the norm, since the second reason would reverse. It is not clear if the first reason would reverse or not. Circumcision was introduced in the U.S. primarily to discourage masturbation. It was suggested at the time that it might reduce promiscuity in general (since men would be less sensitive) but it was primarily to
Actually studies have show quite the opposite. Circumcised men are more likely to participate in risky sexual behavior. After restoring my foreskin after 17 years of being circumcised I understand why that was. Circumcision does greatly decrease sexual enjoyment… so therefor circumcised men don’t get as satisfied and then feel the need to have sex and masturbate more often or they participate in more risky behavior. The risky behavior though has been more attributed to, since a circumcised male lacks a lot of sensitivity, adding a condom to that makes the sensitivity so low a man doesn’t’ feel like he can be satisfied and is therefore less likely to use them. And actually circumcision was originally introduced in the US to prevent males from masturbating and being promiscuous. However most people don’t realize that so it’s obviously not one of the reasons it’s still done in the US today.
