Are christians in danger of caricaturing themselves as hypersensitive reactionaries…………?
The true Christian Church and the false Christian church are both described in the Bible. The true Christians are a peculiar people set apart from the rest. They are hated, ridiculed, mocked and scorned by the world. The true Church does not glean from the Biblical text what may be invented against itself but accepts it as the complete and true Word of God to us according to His good plan. The secular world does not hate the New Age Contemporary Christian Church which itself always endeavors into perpetuity to harmonize pop culture America and the Word of God. The New Age Church peddles its perverted Gospel through its secular music and are purveyors of titillation instead of feeding the Children of God with His Words and Gospel. The only ones in danger of caricaturing are those who are DOING the caricaturing. And usually those are the ones who are anti- the group they are caricaturing. Just look at things like editorial cartoons through the ages… do you REALLY think those who create the caricatures wish to FLATTER the subjects of their caricatures? Caricatures can be insulting or complimentary and can serve a political purpose or be drawn solely for entertainment. Caricatures of politicians are commonly used in editorial cartoons, while caricatures of movie stars are often found in entertainment magazines. The term is derived from the Italian caricare- to charge or load. (See wikipedia article) Therefore, as I said, it is not the CHRISTIANS who are caricaturing THEMSELVES, but those “opposed” to Christians who are doing the caricaturing. Have a blessed day.
