Christians are generally aware of the “idea” that the root of their holidays are pagan based. Unfortunately the basic fact is that Paganism is older than Christianity. Most devout Christians refuse to believe this as it goes against the bible that the first two people where Adam and Eve. So to believe that their holidays are pagan-based goes against what they believe in. Does that make sense? And I had to chuckle (sorry) about the above comment that “they’re not pagan eggs, they are Easter eggs”. Easter is a derivative of Eastre, the Goddess of Spring. So yes… they are pagan eggs.
