Are Christians better than Jews at interpreting Hebrew Scriptures?

This is a no-brainer. Jews have been studying TaNaKh (Hebrew Scripture) for over 3500 years, many of our most brilliant minds devoting their lifetimes to it. It’s our language, and we still speak it. Modern Hebrew differs from Torah about as much as modern English differs from Shakespeare (and any high-school kid can read Shakespeare). So, wouldn’t you think us best qualified to understand our own texts?? To us Jews, the Christian translations, interpretations and interpolations are blatant attempts to back-engineer J*sus into our texts, also Lucifer, sin, Hell, Holy Ghost, and several other purely Christian concepts. If you really understood the Hebrew, you’d know they aren’t there. Oh, and spare me KJV and Strong’s Concordance, the original text is so multi-layered and rich in meaning, no translation can do it justice. BTW Desiree, is there a reason you’re asking this question on the Jewish Sabbath, when presumably many of the most knowledgeable Jewish participants won’t be online?

What is your question?
