Are chlorinated solvents made with any animal, vegetable, or genetically modified materials?
No. Dow chlorinated solvents are made from hydrocarbon feedstocks and chlorine, neither of which are produced from animal, vegetable, or genetically modified sources. The Dow Chemical Company uses none of the following as raw materials in the manufacturing of, nor as ingredients in manufacturing chlorinated organics products. • Corn and/or wheat fillers • Alcohol (synthetically derived or from grain) • Starches (corn, wheat, oat, barley, etc.) • Sorbitor (from wine, corn, wheat, or any other starch) • Stearates (animal, vegetable or synthetic origin) • Animal derivatives • Glycerin (from animal or synthetic sources) Also, the Dow Manufacturing plants for chlorinated organics products do not: • Produce product derived from microbiological or cell culture fermentations. • Purify product using chromatography media (e.g. specific ligand columns) or buffers that contain components of animal origin. • Utilize equipment for processing or storage of the Chlorinated Product in contact at any ti
