Are children a priority group for vaccination?

0

Children per se are not currently a priority group for vaccination. The first groups to be prioritised for vaccination were announced by the Department of Health on 13 August, details of which can be found using the links below: http://nds.coi.gov.uk/clientmicrosite/Content/Detail.aspx?ClientId=46&NewsAreaId=2 &ReleaseID=405829&SubjectId=36 http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publichealth/Flu/Swineflu/InformationandGuidance/Vaccinationprogramme/index.htm http://www.immunisation.nhs.uk The criteria that govern these priority groups do, of course, cover some children. Preparations are continuing to be made to extend the vaccination programme beyond these initial priority groups, should the government decide to do so, upon expert scientific advice. We will contact schools as appropriate when further decisions about priority groups have been made.
