Are CFL light bulbs a health risk?

You’re right about these bulbs. The incandescent bulbs still use more electricity (not much), and they burn out more quickly. Even so, they don’t cause the toxic disposal risk that the CFL bulbs cause. The most efficient and earth friendly lighting solution (besides candles) is probably LED bulbs. They are more expensive than CFLs, but they last many years and they use less electricity than incandescent bulbs. I included just one link to a page that I found, but I’m sure that you could find more information with a quick search in your favorite engine. Thanks for the question! Edit: I found a site with a great and fairly balanced discussion about the different types of bulbs and the advantages and disadvantages of each. Check the link below.
