Are certain parts of Madrid dangerous?
In the old part of Madrid or in areas where there are more than average numbers of tourists it is wise to hold very tightly to your bag or wallet at all times. Pick- pockets are very good at their trade! Unless you go specifically to an area that is known for drug dealing Madrid is a safe city. Terrorist attacks by ETA are generally in the north of Spain and are aimed at specific targets.
