Are certain mycorrhiza specific to certain plants?
Herbs for the window sill Several plants of African Blue Basil (Ocimum x African Blue) adorn my kitchen windowsill. More cuttings still are in my greenhouse for presents – they only take a few weeks to root and run. This perennial basil is much longer lasting than the normal, green culinary basil. It endures for years and is unaffected by regular trimming for salads, pestos, soups and the like. The green leaves are on pretty purple stalks with striking purple veins on top and are almost solid purple below. The flowers, if allowed to develop, are spires of mauve. All in all, it makes a fabulous visual and culinary feast.
