Are catholics and protestants are ANTICHRIST based on what they did in the PAST like the crusades etc?
Oh Lordy. Here we go again. No. No. No. Catholics and Protestants may have made mistakes in the past but they are not the antichrist. Pope John Paul II and now Pope Benedict have systematically apologised to countless people over wrongs committed either intentionally or unintentionally (including the Inquisition) in the past. There are a number of newer Christian religions that like to interpret certain parts of the Bible as indicating that the Catholic Church is the antichrist, however this ignores the very real fact that when that part of the Bible was written (I’m talking Revelations here) they needed to use very symbolic language as Christians were being persecuted by Rome and needed to organise themselves in secret. If you are in doubt, just go to a Catholic or protestant Church and hear them recite their creeds. We believe in God, the Father, the Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and Earth and All Things.
