Are Catholic Churches the only churches named after saints?
No. Episcopal Churches are often named after saints. I think Lutheran churches are too. Also, I belonged to a Unitarian Universalist church in Cincinnati called “St John’s” , which is really weird. But it started out as some kind of liberal German Lutheran church and later became UU. It is the only Unitarian congregation named for a saint.
No. I’ve seen many Christian churches of other denominations named in honor of a saint. And I haven’t seen all that many nondenominational, evangelical-type churches that seem to be concerned with “giving the glory to Jesus” if that means putting His name on the door … For example, here are a few actual nondenom churches in the Denver area: Harvest Fellowship New Testament Fellowship _____ Community Church (name of town — LOTS of these) Bible Chapel Faith Fellowship Church Freedom World Outreach Center Grace & Love Fellowship Joy Tabernacle Holiness Church Life Fellowship Living Way Fellowship New Horizon Fellowship New Life Fellowship Looks to me like “Fellowship” is getting most of the honor and glory, if a church name is what that’s supposed to convey.
