Are caravans and mobile homes included in the schemes?

A12. Caravans and mobile homes do not qualify for grant assistance. There are technical difficulties which prevent internal noise levels within mobile homes being reduced to the same extent, for the same cost, as standard brick houses. To date we have been advised that the only effective way to improve the overall noise insulation properties of mobile homes would be to build brick walls around them and cover them with heavy tiled roofs, thereby making them permanent structures. Cost apart, such action would cut across planning procedures.
