Are canned fruits healthy?
Canned fruits are cooked (all canned food is cooked) and that makes them a little less healthy. Plus, they might have more sugar in them than fresh fruit. Get the kind in light syrup if you can. There are also “no sugar added” canned fruit. Instead of syrup, they use artificial sweetener. I personally don’t think artificial sweeteners are healthy, but you might think otherwise. I buy fresh fruit, because there’s usually always something on sale at a really good price. (Right now peaches are a good one.) When you take everything into account, fresh fruit seems like a better deal.
