Are canine behaviorists qualified to work with wolves and other wild dogs?
If you want to work with wild canines you will want to look into biological science majors such as zoology, natural resources and the like. Something like animal behavior (canine or not) is usually listed as minors or side classes that you can take to further your chances at jobs. Also look into any seasonal or part time work at zoos or wild animal rescue facilities. There are also many places that take in wolves and wolf dogs as there are too many stupid people out there who try to keep them as pets only to learn they cannot. Thus they end up at rescue facilities. With jobs you can of course work at a zoo, a wild animal rescue facility, a park or for the government as there are many research related jobs that the government runs around wolves. Within the US, state Department of Natural Resources or Fish and Game are an excellent place to look for canine based jobs.
