Are bookmarks required in the PDF document created for an ETD submission?

Yes, bookmarks must be included in your PDF document for user’s easy navigation. If bookmarks are not automatically generated in the process of conversion to PDF you must add them manually using Adobe Acrobat. Go to Working with Bookmarks (PDF) on the ETD Website under the “Start Here” link and the “Preparing” tab.
