Are body deodorants, perfumes etc causing a disruption to human pheromones and resulting in wrong attractions?

Pheromones are emitted throughout the body and are still present, even when covered up by perfumes and other scents… after all, you can’t consciously smell them to begin with. And if you look at the opposite, does that mean that people who don’t use these products are more likely to choose a compatible partner? I don’t know about any actual research that has been done on this subject but I’m betting the answer is no. I’m sure plenty of men chased the wrong girls before they were spritzing Chanel, and plenty of women found the wrong man before Axe. Even assuming that we’re all tuned into our own chemistry enough to register when we’ve scented our ideal person, physical chemistry is not all that goes into a relationship. Perhaps it might be more likely that a pair that is biologically suited is also psychologically suited, but I’d hardly call it a guarantee.
