Are bicycles allowed within University buildings?

0

A. The University is keen to encourage staff and students who wish to cycle to work / classes and a number of initiatives are promoted by the Transport Office (Estates and Buildings) to assist cyclists. The University has installed cycle storage facilities and shower facilities for cyclists, and maps showing the location of these are available at http://www.ed.ac.uk/maps/ Bicycles should be stored in the cycle racks provided and not normally within University buildings. Bicycles may be kept inside a University building ONLY after the Head of School has given specific permission. During a fire evacuation, bicycles MUST NOT be taken into the emergency exit routes. See the University’s Health and Safety Policy, Part 1: 4.10 Access to University Buildings and Late Working. • For Further Information on this FAQ please refer to: http://www.safety.ed.ac.uk/policy/part1/part1.shtm#late.
