Are bearded collies good indoor dogs or should we get a different type of dog?

They can live indoors -but they must have lots of opportunity to race around outside. They can be quite high energy. I knew a breeder that had two seperate runs in her yard, one for the bitc hes and one for the dogs… if the dogs wouldn’t run up and down the fence line playing with eachother through the fence every day, she couldn’t keep them. She just couldn’t keep up with the energy. For instance, she had a wonderful show prospect pup she was going to keep from her litter… she ended up selling him because he wouldn’t race the fence with the other dogs. So if you mean, entirely indoors, with only the occasional potty-break outside… No. But as a household companion that is allowed to run around outside (alot, at that, too), sure.
