Are bark collars worth the investment?
While a good bark collar can set you back a few bucks, it is definitely worth the investment. Cheaply made bark collars can give false corrections (shock your dog when he’s not barking), overly strong corrections, or simply break down. Many towns have ordinances against barking, and the fines can be surprisingly stiff. My township can levy a whopping $500 fine – and possibly even confiscate the dog – if a dog is found to be a persistant barker!
