Are Bank of England and Bank of Scotland pound notes still valid?

0

Bank of England £1 notes are not valid. They were phased out completely a couple of decades ago and are not legal tender. All other notes may still be valid as £5 and the Scottish £1 notes are still legal tender. However, as they are likely to have been superceded, I doubt if a merchant will accept them. Speak to the Bank of England and Bank of Scotland to see if they will take the notes. I believe they will take the £5 and Scottish £1 notes and replace them with current notes. I am not sure about the English £1 note.
