Are bacteria and fungi plants or animals?
Bacteria and fungi are members of their own kingdoms so they are neither plants nor animals. Some bacteria are studied by botanists because of their similarity to some plants. A good example is cyano-bacteria which uses the same type of chlorophyll as plants. Although each genera are assigned to various kingdoms there are often grey areas in the definitions of the kingdoms.
