Are attacks on Coalition forces acceptable?
Shia: Acceptable, 12 percent; Unacceptable, 85 percent. Sunni: Acceptable, 36 percent; Unacceptable, 57 percent. Kurds: Acceptable, 2 percent; Unacceptable, 96 percent. Question: Should the Coalition leave now? Shia: Yes, 12 percent. Sunni: Yes, 29 percent. Kurds: Yes, 2 percent. The Kurds clearly are happy and grateful that the United States for years protected them from Saddam in the northern No-Fly Zone. The Shias are happy that Saddam is gone, but not so trusting of the Coalition as the Kurds. And the Sunnis, whom Saddam favored, know that the coming democracy will end their elite status.
