Are atheists god denying theists?
A survey conducted by the Freedom From Religion Foundation (http://www.ffrf.org/) showed that more than 90% of the atheist respondents became atheists because religion didnt work for them. They had come to the conclusion that religious convictions were fundamentally incompatible with their observations. Atheists generally dont lack belief because of ignorance or denial. They are non-believing through choice. Many have spent time studying one or more religions, often quite thoroughly. They have made a carefully considered decision. This decision can of course be an inescapable consequence of the personality of the individual. For a naturally skeptic person, atheism is often the only meaningful choice if the person is true to his own nature. The word denial can be used in the sense failing in accepting the truth of. Only in this sense can it be said that atheists deny God. They are not in a state of denial where they choose to ignore evidence, and they dont necessarily claim the non-exis
