Did theists give atheists a run for their money when they said the Gospels were written in the apostolic age and atheists said it there were done over a century after Jesus’ time. This was the argument over a century ago between secular and religious scholars. Today, most secular scholars in the majority (like back then) still push for the latest possible date of Gospel origins. Nothing has changed, other then these types of scholars have been consistently proven wrong. DId theists give atheists a run for their money? Apparently, yes, when they completely and utterly humiliated after finding a fragment from John’s Gospel dating to the early 2nd century. But even now, most people know none of that and these same type of secular and atheist scholars I read from push for the latest possible date within the apostolic period. But many scholars I read from a century ago who were fighting the “enlightened” nonsense said they were written within a few years and less then a decade after Jesus’
