Are Assistants entitled to paid sick leave?
They are entitled to 2 days of paid sick leave at their regular rate of pay, subject to proper notification and appropriate proof of illness or injury in the form of a medical certificate. Sick leave only applies to regularly scheduled classroom/laboratory contact hours. Any subsequent sick leave days are unpaid and this is to be recorded on the time sheet in order to ensure non-payment of the appropriate hours.
