The Grey wolves Range consist of North America, Euro/Asia, from the Deserts to wetlands, Forest, Mountains and including The Arctic Tundra Region. World Population is around 200,000 wolves with about half of those living in Canada alone. In all of North America including Canada the total population is around 120,000 wolves. They are considered endangered in many of their former ranges, such as the Mexican Wolf, and the Great Plains Wolf which are both subspecies of the Grey Wolf. In Europe and Asia the fate is the same. Where their numbers are strong many governments still allow hunting. Even in the areas that the numbers are low the governments allow the wolf to be shot due to the thought that they prey on live stock.
