Are arachnoid cysts serious?
My son has a cyst in his pituitary gland, probably arachnoid but Dr’s are a bit undecided on exact type of cyst. We have been following it for 18 months (he’s 3) and have been told that so long as it doesn’t change size significantly we don’t have to do anything. We found it during a MRI screening that was looking for something else. I know that they can grow quite large and require removal, they can press on optic nerves if they get too big.
