Are Arab Americans more closely tied to their country of origin, or to America?
depends, i lived in little Arab for a while in Michigan (Dearborn) some of them try too hard to be accepted, they would even deny their origin and race and try to pass themselves off as European but most of the ones I ran across used their country of origin as their identity, that’s how they preferred to be recognized…they forced it with bumper stickers, license plates, flags, hats, t-shirts… ultimately I believe they do as their parents do, about 80% of them are closer to their country than they are to America, that doesnt mean they dont LIKE america or that they want to harm america…
